And then I felt like I might throw up

I did it!

I submitted the short story. It's not perfect but I hit the 'submit' button before I could chicken out. (And there is no place to go vote Lacey, but thank you for the encouragement!)

Now excuse me while I go try my best to forget it ever happened.

Congratulations!

It's not about somebody else picking your story (i.e. "winning" in the subjective contests). It is aboutdoing your best, following through, and doing it because you take pride in your work. We are going to be waiting to read it, but understand that you can't share before the contest ends.

Yay!! Doesn't it feel good to go out on a limb?

You are brave...I sometimes wonder what the heck people think of my blog stories...and then shortly later could care less, because I do it primarily for myself...but to submit something...that would make me wanna pee my pants in anxiety...!! You have talent though, so good job!!

Thanks everyone! And sister-mine, you are very right (I'm also glad you didn't take back my super-duper present!). And I promise when the contest is over to link the thing so you can see if it was worth the fuss :)

Good. For. You! Whether you "win" or not, I'm proud of you! And I'm sure your story is perfectly wonderful! I enjoy your writing and I'm sure many, many other people do too! I'm waiting anxiously....
