Day 04 – Favorite book of your favorite series

Without a doubt, Half Blood Prince.  I don't think story telling gets any better, I don't think characters are more perfectly put to a page, I don't think the twists and turns weave so well in any other book.  I've probably read this book 10 times, every single time I love it even more.

Oh, this is a hard one! How can I possibly pick one?! Eeny, meeny, miney, moe - the first one, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. I love how the series begins, with Harry feeling like such an absolute nobody, and discovering for the first time in his life that he is a somebody, and that there's a whole world of magic just waiting for him. Being that I love the idea of magic, and the fantasy genre, it's such a thrill to think about how Harry felt being exposed to it for the very first time.

I agree, the beginning of HP is like nothing else - when Hagrid knocks down the door to take him away, you know you're in for a fun ride.

M is for Mother

Motherhood is more than carrying a child in your womb for 9 months. Motherhood is more than daily wiping of noses, cleaning of faces, filling of bellies. Motherhood is more than driving, shopping, cleaning, cooking. Motherhood is part of being a Woman, but not all of it. It is part of growing up, for some of us. It is conducive to gaining appreciation, but not for everyone. I was still a child myself, really, when I became a Mother. Joshua and I did a lot of growing up together. We both learned a lot about sacrifice. I learned how to say good-bye to him in the morning, he learned that separation from Mother wasn't such a bad thing after all. Especially since he got to go to Grandma's house (which, sorry Disney, was the happiest place on earth). I'm supposed to pass on the love to other bloggers by linking them and then posting in their comments. But, seriously, how much more ad space do you guys need? Ok, ok, fine.
