Oops, I did it again

I played with your heart

Got lost in the game.

Oh, baby baby...

Wait, sorry, got sidetracked.

I let myself get drawn into an argument again. A sparring of words, as it were. An argument where neither side is going to move. That is my favorite kind, if you don't count the throw downs me and El Ringleader Eric get caught up in. (Can you feel the sarcasm? Why don't they have a sarcastic font?)

This really smart guy once said:

When we believe or say we have been offended, we usually mean we feel insulted, mistreated, snubbed, or disrespected. And certainly clumsy, embarrassing, unprincipled, and mean-spirited things do occur in our interactions with other people that would allow us to take offense. However, it ultimately is impossible for another person to offend you or to offend me. Indeed, believing that another person offended us is fundamentally false. To be offended is a choice we make; it is not a condition inflicted or imposed upon us by someone or something else.

Apparently, I need to repeat it more often to myself.

Don't take the bait, Sarah. It doesn't matter to you, Sarah. Everyone has their opinion, Sarah.

Just stop, collaborate and listen.

p.s. That really smart guy was David A. Bednar.

So was the arguement about who is stubborn? I know someone who can help explain to them that it is impossible for you to be stubborn because of your refined genetic background that has excluded all stubborn "jeans".

Nah, because clearly I am not stubborn. Not at all. Nope.

I'm coming over from Mormon Mommy Blogs, asking for your help. I am in the running for a round trip airfare paid ticket to Connecticut, to meet a friend I became acquainted with through blogging. She is a super fun person and is holding this contest. I entered a funny story titled "Grapejuice Floaties, Now Marry Me." The person whose story receives the most votes will win a trip to meet this generous lady, whom I'm hoping to meet. The voting ends Sunday evening. I am ahead for now but there is a story coming up from behind out of nowhere and I would so, so, appreciate your help. Her blog is www.becausemomsaidso.blogspot.com and the voting is on the sidebar on the right. "Grapejuice, Floaties" Just go there and cast a vote for me, please. Thanks so much-you're awesome! ♥♥

I need to repeat those words to myself too. I got in an embarrassing argument last night with someone who was telling me I was argumentative and that I dont listen. hhm... Sadly this is too often true, But yet I was offended!
