Paint the corners of my mind

We're busy here building lots of fun memories, like swepping and mooping, epiphany's, and the like. My sister has discovered my dirty little secret too (not THAT secret, she actually already knows and will be partaking):

I am severely destitute in the household item department.

Sis: Do you have an iron?
Me: No.

Sis: Do you have a pastry cutter?
Me: Uhh, no.

Sis: I'm not even going to ask if you have drying racks.
Me: No, I don't. I do have this glass thing in my cabinet, the one by where the plates are.
Sis: What?

Sis: Do you have an ironing board?
Me: I don't have an iron, so no.

Me: Oooo look an ergonomic seam ripper.
Sis: Are you trying to tell me you want that?
Me: Well I don't have one.
Sis: ...

Me: I don't have a waffle iron.
Sis: I know I gave you one of those at some point.
Me: Well I don't have one now.

Sharp scissors? Nope, I use mine to cut paper. Thread? Nope, at least not the kind you use on a sewing machine. Frosting bags? Salt? Vanilla? Yard stick? Recipe for gingerbread, apple pie, Mexican wedding cakes, butter cookies? Nope, nah, nada, nay. Rolling pin? Yes, recently acquired! 2 rolling pins? No. Cookie sheet? Yes! But only 1 cookie sheet.

Pathetic.

Anyhow, Cute Pam posted this and I thought it was a good way to generate comments to share some fun times from the past. I won't be insulted if you don't participate. Well, not a lot insulted anyhow.

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

Wow, no iron?

Remember when your bug caught on fire? I remember seeing you with McDonalds a lot at school. Oh, the woes of being a freshman with no off campus privileges.

Hey, remember when we got married? That was so awesome. Love you.

She may not have stuff (and she still has a comission to create a poem about stuff), but she DOES have all the things that really matter: family, love, the Gospel, kindness, really cool hair, a tickely spot, a home, charity, compassion, patience, and most of all for some unknown reason she loves me and even allows me to torture her about her "stuff" :)

Thanks for the plug. Hum a memory of you. This is hard to come up with the one because there are so many. I remember when you and your family came over to show us Carly when she was a brand new little thing. I loved seeing the joy in your eyes and the wonder of not knowing how everything was going to work out but having a faith that would eventually carry you through the long journey of getting everything finalized. Thank you for sharing who you are with me and being such a wonderful friend. I could write lots more but I think there is a limit on letters.
Okay....the first one that came to mind was when you were teaching Sunbeams and I was in the Primary presidency. We were having a teacher inservice meeting and you and Eric were the only ones that showed up. **I know, that was a pretty lame one....but that was the first one that came to mind**

I remember you always making me laugh... and you still are! Go figure! And I always think of you whenever I see a VW Bug. YW's, Girl Camp... for some reason, you're always in the picture :)

Anonymous 1 (Eric) - I remember when we got married, oh yes. Remember how I thought you were going to say "I don't" because you refused to look at me during the ceremony? Good times. My favorite memory though is when we drove Josh home from the hospital, 45 mph on the freeway the whole way and you yelling at the other drivers that your new son was in the car and to slow down.

Anon 2 - (My sister) We are making memories too fast to count, thank you for being part of me.
